Optional Dinner Money and Extended Day Settings
Optional Trip Settings
There are various optional settings for the Dinner money and Extended day modules, which you may wish to consider prior to set up
To review these settings:
Click on the Configuration tab
Select System options
Click on the Dinners/Extended Day tab
Review the settings
Click Done

Display catering return warnings | Refer to section Dinners Manage Catering Returns |
Disabled right click to toggle paid/free status on meals | Deselect this option if you wish to change the status of meals from free to paid or paid to free using the right mouse-click. |
Catering return format | Refer to section Dinners Manage Catering Returns |
Set up universal free school meals | Select Set up and tick the year groups that are eligible for universal free school meals (usually Year 0, 1 and 2) |
Default value if no meal taken in dinner money | Select Leave blank or Show as ‘present’. The ‘present’ option will pick up the Code type Present set in Meal Codes and fill the dinners screen with this code for all pupils without meals entered for that day. |
Turn off overnight preferences | See section on Set Pupil Default Meals (Preferences) |
Show staff in classroom edition | Select this option if your teachers wish to select their meals in the classroom. Note that the teacher’s first name might be displayed. |

Allow 2-digit entry for Other meals | See section on Enter Other Meals (Visitors) |
Show default codes in Dinner Register | Selecting this option will display any Default Meal Preferences and/or the Default value if no meal take in dinner money (see section above) |
Default payment method for SCO Dinners payments | Refer to section Change the Default Payment Method for Dinners |
Dinner money receipt label override | Use this option if you wish to change the display on receipts from Pupil or Adult meal payment to, for example, the name of the catering company. You will need to restart SCO for this change to take effect. |
Fill dinner money grid horizontally for each week | Select this option to move the cursor to the right, rather than down, after entering a meal code. |
Default payment amount | The amount entered here will display when entering a payment using the red Payment button. This is useful if most parents pay for dinners on a set regular basis (e.g. daily or weekly). The amount can subsequently be changed when entering the payment. |
Show default codes in Extended Day Register | Selecting this option will display any Default Meal Preferences and/or the Default value if no meal take in dinner money (see section above) on the Dinner or Extended Day register. |
Allow meal price changes for dates before today | Refer to section Change meal or session prices to take effect from today or a date in the past |
