Control Universal Free School Meals eligibility by Date of Birth

You can now control your UFSM eligibility by date of birth. This is particularly useful for schools where pupils move from Pre School (not eligible for USFM) to Primary School (eligible for UFSM) and when year groups 1 and 2 are promoted over the summer holiday. This means parents can order lunches before the new academic year starts.

To control UFSM eligibility by date of birth:

  • Click on the Configuration tab in SCO
  • Select System options
  • Select the Dinners / Extended day tab
  • Tick the box next to Control your UFSM eligibility by date of birth

Note

If you change over to using the eligibility by date of birth and any dates of birth are incorrect in SCO, the system will default to relying on the year group for UFSM eligibility for that child. Pupils in Years 0 to 2 will automatically be configured for UFSM.

If you decide to not control the UFSM eligibility by Date of Birth, please visit the page here for steps on how to manage your UFSM students over the summer holiday period.
